Weekly Tournaments
This is a Pro feature. Upgrade your group to access Weekly Tournaments.
Weekly Tournaments is an automated recurring tournament that runs on a schedule you set. Instead of manually creating a tournament each week, the app handles scheduling, sign-ups, and bracket generation automatically. Show up, sign up, and play.
How it works
- Sign-up window opens — after the previous tournament completes (plus a cooldown period), a new sign-up window opens and group members can register to participate
- Bracket is generated — at the configured start time, sign-ups close and the bracket is automatically drawn from all registered players
- Play your matches — participants record results as they go; the bracket advances in real time
- Champion is crowned — when the final is played, the winner is highlighted in the app
Signing up
When a Weekly Tournament is open for registration, you'll see a banner or notification prompting you to sign up. Tap Sign up to register. You can withdraw before the bracket is locked if you can't make it.
Bracket format
Weekly Tournaments use a single-elimination bracket by default. Seeding is based on current leaderboard ratings — top-rated players get the most favourable first-round draw.
Rating impact
By default, Weekly Tournament match results count toward the main leaderboard. An admin can disable this from the tournament configuration if you want the tournament to be purely for fun.
Configuring Weekly Tournaments
Admins can configure Weekly Tournaments from the Tournaments page:
- Day and start time — when the bracket locks and play begins
- Timezone — the timezone used for scheduling
- Minimum participants — minimum players required for the tournament to run
- Cooldown hours — how long after a tournament completes before the next sign-up window opens
- Apply to leaderboard — whether results affect ratings
Notifications
Players who've enabled push notifications receive a notification when the tournament is about to start and if it gets cancelled due to insufficient players.
