Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Foosball Leaderboard application and website ("Service"), operated by Foosball Leaderboard ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Foosball Leaderboard is a web-based platform for tracking foosball matches and player performance. The Service includes:

  • Live match tracking with real-time goal and position recording
  • Player ratings powered by the TrueSkill algorithm
  • Leaderboards, head-to-head comparisons, and performance analytics
  • Seasonal leaderboards and bracket-style tournaments (including Weekly Tournaments)
  • Achievements, missions, and progress tracking
  • A virtual currency system ("coins") and a cosmetics shop for titles and avatar frames
  • A "Looking for Players" system to find teammates
  • An in-app betting system using virtual currency
  • Push notifications for match updates, player availability, and tournament events
  • Organisation ("group") management with member invites and role-based access
  • A Progressive Web App (PWA) for mobile and desktop use

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Each account is personal. You may not share, transfer, or sell your account to another person.

4. Organisations & Groups

The Service supports multi-tenant organisations ("groups"). Organisation owners can invite members, manage roles, and configure group settings including game mode (1v1 or 2v2). Once set, the game mode for an organisation cannot be changed.

Organisation owners are responsible for the members they invite and the content created within their group.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

The Service offers two subscription plans: Free and Pro (€5 per month). Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise recurring charges to your chosen payment method.

  • Billing — Subscriptions are billed at the start of each billing period. Prices are in euros and may be subject to VAT where applicable.
  • Plan changes — You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Downgrades from a paid plan take effect at the end of the current billing period, with a 7-day grace period during which premium features remain accessible.
  • Cancellation — You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Price changes— We may change subscription prices at any time with at least 30 days' advance notice via email or in-app notification. If you do not cancel before the new price takes effect, you accept the updated pricing. Any price change takes effect at the start of your next billing period.
  • Refunds — Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
  • Taxes — Prices may be subject to VAT or other applicable taxes, which will be shown at checkout.

6. Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. However, by subscribing and requesting immediate access to the digital service, you acknowledge that you may lose this right once the service has been fully provided, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

You will be informed of this waiver before completing your purchase. If you exercise your right of withdrawal before the service is fully provided, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the service already delivered.

7. Virtual Currency & Cosmetics

The Service includes a virtual currency system ("coins") that can be earned through match wins, betting, and completing missions. Coins can be spent in the in-app cosmetics shop on titles and avatar frames.

  • Coins have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Coins are non-transferable between accounts or organisations.
  • Purchased cosmetic items are non-refundable.
  • We reserve the right to adjust coin earning rates, prices, and available items at any time.

8. Betting

The in-app betting system uses virtual currency only. No real money is wagered, won, or lost. Betting markets are created for live matches and settled automatically based on match outcomes. This feature is available on paid plans only.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' experience
  • Manipulate match results, ratings, or betting outcomes
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
  • Upload offensive, harmful, or misleading content (including player names and avatars)

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice where necessary.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Service — including software, design, branding, and content — belong to Foosball Leaderboard or its licensors. You retain ownership of any content you upload (such as avatars), but grant us a licence to use it within the Service.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foosball Leaderboard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Denmark.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated or willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, but we will consider requests on a case-by-case basis.
